Spain finished their group stage participation at Euro 2024 with a 100% record. This became a fact after “La Furia Roja” defeated Albania 1-0 in their last match in Group “B”. The only goal was scored by Ferran Torres in the 13th minute of the match.

In the opening minutes, the Albanians tried to put pressure on Luis de la Fuente’s team in search of an early goal, but the Iberians did not allow any danger in front of David Raya.

The first better chance was for Spain. In the 12th minute Mikel Merino headed the ball, but Strakosha managed to save.

A minute later, the Spaniards took the lead. Aymeric Laporte passed to Dani Olmo, who sent a long leading pass to Ferran Torres, who with a measured shot sent the ball into Strakosha’s net.

In the 21st minute, Dani Olmo tried a long-range shot, but he was quite inaccurate. Five minutes later, Dani Vivian crossed from a corner, but Merino was unable to reach the ball in time.

In the 41st minute, Alejandro Grimaldo crossed to the far post, where Ferran Torres was, but the striker’s header went over the bar.

At the end of the first half, Kristjan Asllani fired a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area, but David Raya showed reflexes and cleared the ball.

The second half started with better play from the Spaniards. In the 50th minute, Dani Olmo entered the penalty area, but failed to find Joselu and the attack lost its sharpness.

In the 62nd minute, Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez made his official debut for Spain, replacing Mikel Oyarzabal.

In the 64th minute, Armando Broja shot after the ball reached him following a free kick, but Raya was again attentive and cleared.

In the 76th minute, Jamal passed back to Fermin Lopez, who passed to Alvaro Morata, but the “La Furia Roja” striker was offside. In the counterattack, Asllani shot wide of the goal, guarded by David Raya.

Medon Berisha fired a shot that ricocheted off Le Normand, but Raya easily caught it anyway. A minute later, Olmo received a good pass from Morata, but his shot was blocked.

In the second minute of added time, the Albanians had a last chance to avoid defeat, but David Raya once again demonstrated his superb reflexes after a shot by Armando Broja and preserved the lead for Luis de la Fuente’s team.
